Why El Gouna
01 The lagoon
The lagoon is 2–3 km long and about 1 km wide. The shallow teaching zone has a sandy bottom and flat water; beyond it, depth changes with tide and conditions, and a dedicated deeper foil zone is used when suitable.
02 The wind
Steady N–NW thermal wind almost year-round, backed by four years of our own station data. We also run the only in-house 16-day forecast for the spot — check the live wind before you book, and we tell you straight if it's not your day.
03 Since 2004
Kitepower has taught in El Gouna since 2004. Since 2023, Czech co-owners Lukáš & Andrea have led the school hands-on, combining local knowledge with modern coaching. Sessions stay personal, with max 2 students per instructor — in your language.
The Kitepower Method
We do not treat a history dating back to 2004 as a trophy. Since 2023, Lukáš and Andrea have been turning it into a modern coaching system that improves every week.
Head coach Lukáš Vogeltanz selects and develops the instructors, observes lessons on the water and gives each coach specific feedback. Every week, the team reviews what happened, what worked and what the next lesson can do better.
You may train with Lukáš or one of his coaches. The method, safety standards and commitment to your progression stay the same.
Lessons are watched in real conditions, not judged from a checklist in an office.
The team meets every week to discuss what happened and what should change.
Each instructor gets specific feedback on teaching and personal riding technique.
What one coach learns becomes knowledge the whole team can use.
02 · Your week
01 Day 1
No long beach session. On the sand you rig the kite and learn to assist the launch and landing — then you move into the shallow teaching zone for your first kite control, with two-way helmet coaching throughout.
02 Day 1
You ride the kite's pull through the water, then body-drag with the board and recover it. Depending on your pace, the wind and the earlier steps, your first water-start attempts may follow.
03 Day 2
Day two is water starts and your first metres on the board — getting up, riding, and learning to stop in control.
04 Day Next
As control develops, you link rides, work both directions and practise holding ground upwind. There is no promised day or level: your instructor records only the skills you actually demonstrate.
The course is planned as 8 hours across roughly 3–5 days; your demonstrated skills and the conditions set the actual pace.

Standard lessons: max 2 students per instructor. Twice the water time of a group lesson, an IKO record of the skills actually demonstrated included free — and a two-way BB Talkin helmet on every lesson: your coach talks you through every move live, and you talk back. Already ride? For capable, level-matched independent riders, advanced coaching can be arranged for up to 4 riders on request with multiple complete setups. How semi-private pairing works: semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can’t pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options — ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. You’re told up front, so it’s never a surprise and you never pay more than you booked.

El Gouna has 300+ windy days a year — but if the wind doesn't show on your day, we simply move your hours to another day. You never lose what you paid for. That's the advantage of learning at a school with its own forecast: we plan your lessons into the wind.

5,500+ riders visit us every year — many bring a partner or the whole family, so the base is always alive. 70 people, 25 instructors in peak season, 3 rescue boats available during operating hours without a guaranteed response time, 250+ kites across the stated size range, plus our own restaurant, beach gym, family play area and coworking. An accompanying adult remains responsible for children. One organised operation — so your whole week works, not just your two hours on the water.

The lagoon is 2–3 km long and about 1 km wide. The first roughly 800 m from the beach is knee-to-waist deep over sand; beyond the shallows it gradually gets deeper. During operating hours, 3 rescue boats are available, but a specific intervention or response time cannot be guaranteed. Three zones separate beginners, independent riders and wing/hydrofoil. We sit at the northern edge of the bay. The position can provide an open approach in the prevailing pattern; the usable zone still depends on live wind, depth, traffic and rider level.

Bring everyone
El Gouna is a gated lagoon town where everything is 5–10 minutes away: golf, padel, tennis, go-karts, a marina full of restaurants, and the Red Sea. At our center: a restaurant and beach club, a children's playground, a beach gym and a coworking space with a sea view. The playground is not supervised childcare, so an accompanying adult remains responsible. Non-kiting guests have options at the base and around El Gouna.

Co-owner & head instructor, and a professional international team rider for Flysurfer (since 2011) and Levitaz (since 2015). A competitive rider across kite, wave, hydrofoil, wing and parawing — he knows the sport, the gear and exactly where it's heading. Teaching since he was 15, he shaped the way the whole school teaches.
Co-owner. The welcome you feel when you arrive, the look and feel of the whole center, and SALT — our restaurant and beach club — are all hers. She also runs how we talk to you: customer communication across email, WhatsApp and social media is hers, and she creates our Instagram posts and stories herself — passing only the routine on to reception.

We're the northernmost base on a private, gated lagoon on the Red Sea coast of El Gouna, Egypt — flat water with a shallow sandy teaching zone and no public-beach crowd. Fly into Hurghada (HRG), 30–40 minutes away, and we'll sort your transfer.
