How wingfoiling feels
01 The power source
You hold the inflatable wing and control its power directly, like a sail with no lines. Change its angle and the pull changes with you — a simple, immediate way to feel the wind.
No lines and no big setup: start with the wing before adding the foil beneath your feet.
02 Board + foil
A wide, stable board gets you moving. The hydrofoil below then creates lift, raising the board clear of the water until you glide in near silence. Controlling the power and learning the new balance of the foil are two distinct skills.
Start on a high-volume board and short mast, then size the setup down as your control grows.
03 Depth + control
The first ~800 m is a knee-to-waist-deep sandy teaching area. Short beginner masts are matched to the actual water depth; later, the dedicated deeper wing-and-foil zone opens the next step when conditions are suitable.
04 Your next move
New to foiling? Begin with the 5-hour structured course, without a promised foil result. Already flying independently? Open Hours are available, while rental requires a local check of upwind foiling, self-rescue, conditions and equipment availability. Ride a kite upwind already? The wind awareness transfers, while the foil remains a fresh skill.

The conditions — we measure them
Our own weather station has logged 2 million+ readings over 4 years. About 77% of days are rideable year-round — August 85%, September 83%, June 83%, and even December 61% (6 days in 10). A wing flies in lighter wind than a kite, so quiet summer days that shut a kite down are still flying days on a wing.
"Rideable" = wind holds 12+ kt for at least 2 daytime hours — i.e. a real session is on. We never quote an "average wind speed"; this is the number that actually decides whether you fly. Winter water ≈20 °C — pack a full wetsuit, not a shorty.

How semi-private pairing works: semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can’t pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options — ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. You’re told up front, so it’s never a surprise and you never pay more than you booked.

If you ride upwind on a twin-tip, your board and wind awareness can help, but there is no fixed timeline. The wing handling comes quickly; the foil feel is genuinely new, so we keep it honest and build it step by step. One trip, two sports — and you already know the spot and the crew.

The gear
We've been the Flysurfer test point since 2009 and Levitaz since 2015. Try wings and foils across the range before you buy — coached by co-owner Lukáš, an international team rider for both brands. Beginners start on a high-volume, stable board with shorter masts near shore, then size down as you progress.
The oldest kite & wing school in El Gouna
Oldest in El Gouna, founded 2004 and run by co-owners Lukáš and Andrea since 2023 — you'll meet them on the beach. Finn Flügel, 2025 GKA Freestyle World Champion, trains at our home spot, coached by Lukáš. The same eye that sharpens a champion sets up your first session.

Wingfoiling in El Gouna — the facts
Wingfoiling is one of the gentlest ways into foiling — many people make it their very first watersport. In our 5-hour beginner course you'll handle the wing, do a water start, ride on the board and get your first foil pops. Truly flying on your own (confident, repeatable flight) usually comes during the progression sessions. Standard max 2 students per instructor and two-way BB Talkin helmet coaching mean your instructor talks you through every move in real time.

No. Wingfoiling is often someone's first board-and-wind sport. Initial wing and board drills use the first roughly 800 m teaching area when the actual water level and rider height allow standing; foil work moves to the dedicated deeper zone. No lines or large kite setup make it a friendly entry point into foiling.
If you already ride a twin-tip upwind, your board and wind awareness can help, but the foil feel is genuinely new. Progress depends on your current skills, coaching, wind, water depth and conditions rather than a fixed number of hours, so we assess where you are and build it step by step. Plenty of our guests do both sports in one trip.
In summer it's boardshorts or a bikini. In winter the water sits around 20 °C, so you'll want a full, long wetsuit (we provide it) — not a shorty and definitely not boardshorts.
