The coaching loop

Less explaining on the beach. More useful attempts on the water.

Coaching is not a beginner course or a fixed trick promise. It is a focused loop for riders who already stay upwind and self-rescue: diagnose, drill, get live feedback, then own the movement.
  1. 01 04 Before the first run Diagnose

First we watch. Then we coach.

One goal is more useful than ten vague ambitions. We watch how you ride, find the movement that is holding you back and agree on the smallest change that can unlock it.

    • You already ride upwind and can self-rescue; coaching builds on that base.
    • Coming back after a break? We will tell you honestly whether coaching or a structured Refresh is the better route.
  2. 02 04 Make it repeatable Drill

One movement. Clean water. More useful attempts.

We isolate the key movement, tune the setup and repeat it in the part of the lagoon that suits the wind, depth and traffic that day.

    • The flat, sandy teaching zone lets you reset quickly when the current depth and conditions allow standing.
    • Bring your own gear or use our Flysurfer and Levitaz fleet, matched to your goal and the wind.
  3. 03 04 During the attempt Feedback

The correction reaches you before the next mistake.

Two-way BB Talkin helmets let your coach react while you are riding — and let you answer. The cue stays short, specific and tied to the attempt you just felt.

    • Standard coaching has a maximum of 2 riders per coach.
    • For capable, level-matched independent riders, up to 4 can be arranged on request with multiple complete setups.
  4. 04 04 Make it yours Transfer

Land it without waiting for the voice in your helmet.

We vary the run, confirm the movement holds and finish with a clear next drill. Progress is not one lucky landing; it is knowing how to reproduce it safely on your own.

    • 3 rescue boats support the operating area during opening hours; conditions and response times still vary.
    • If the wind does not fit the session, your unused coaching hours remain available under our Wind Guarantee.

Owner-led coaching

Lukáš Vogeltanz sets the standard. His team delivers it on the water.

Lukáš does not teach every session personally. He selects the instructors, sets Kitepower's coaching method and safety standards, and oversees the quality of their work. That includes observing lessons on the water, keeping concrete notes and leading a weekly team review so one instructor's experience becomes shared practice. Your coach is an experienced instructor and high-level rider chosen for your goal. Finn Flügel — 2025 GKA Freestyle World Champion — trains at our home spot, coached by Lukáš. Direct coaching with Lukáš is available by prior arrangement and subject to availability.

How semi-private pairing works: semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can’t pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options — ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. You’re told up front, so it’s never a surprise and you never pay more than you booked.

Prices in EUR. Open hours are paid on the spot and tiered by your total hours ridden — ride 5 h over a week and the whole lot drops to the 5–8 h rate. A Kitepass (beach access) of €10/day applies to all riders; bring your own gear and that's all you add. Our Wind Guarantee means booked hours never expire. Renting gear? See rental →

Pick the perfect wind for your session

We run our own weather station — so you can plan around your goal.

A live weather station, a 16-day forecast tuned to this lagoon, and a live webcam give you one consistent view of the conditions. Light day? Consider foil. Building to 22 kt? Consider freestyle. From 2 million+ readings over 4 years, about 77% of days a year are rideable — peaking around 85% in August, and even December still gives you 6 out of 10 days.

% of days with a rideable session (≥ 12 kt for ≥ 2 h of daylight). Winter air ≈ 22 °C — pack a full wetsuit, not boardshorts.

Straight answers before you book

What if there's no one my weight for a semi-private lesson?

Semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can't pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options: ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. We tell you up front, so it's never a surprise — and you never pay more than you booked.

Will Lukáš coach me personally?

Lukáš does not teach every session himself. He selects the instructors, sets Kitepower's coaching method and safety standards, and oversees the quality of their work. His oversight includes observing lessons on the water, keeping concrete notes and leading a weekly team review so one instructor's experience becomes shared practice. Your session is led by an experienced instructor and high-level rider chosen for your goal. Direct coaching with Lukáš is available by prior arrangement and subject to his availability.

Do I need to be able to ride upwind for a coaching session?

Yes. Coaching is for riders who already ride — you can stay upwind and self-rescue. If you're not there yet, you'll progress far faster in a structured course first, then come back for coaching. We'll tell you honestly which one you need.

Can I use my own gear for coaching?

Absolutely — bring your own kite, wing or board and you only pay for the coaching plus the Kitepass beach access. Or ride our full Flysurfer & Levitaz range (kites 3–21 m, foils, wings) so you can test the right gear for your goal on the water.

How many hours will it take to land my first jump or transition?

Honestly, it depends on the rider — and we won't promise a fixed number. What we can promise is that flat, standable water plus two-way BB Talkin coaching cuts the time dramatically versus trying it alone in chop. Most riders unlock something they've been stuck on far sooner than they expect.

Can you coach the switch from kite to foil, or to wing?

Yes. Our coaches ride every discipline at a pro level — kite, hydrofoil, strapless/wave, wingfoil and parawing — so we coach kite-to-foil, twin-tip-to-strapless, and the move into wing or parawing on the same lagoon.

What if there's no wind on my booked day?

Your booked hours never expire — that's our Wind Guarantee, so a calm day never costs you money. And the wind shows up: from our own weather station, about 77% of days a year are rideable. Our live 16-day forecast helps you pick the best wind day for your goal.

Is the lagoon good for practising tricks?

The first roughly 800 m teaching area is knee-to-waist deep over sand, while advanced sessions use the zone suitable for the rider, tide and conditions. Flat water supports repeated attempts, but coaching never treats crashes as harmless or removes the need for normal safety margins.

Do I get a certification with coaching?

Coaching is about progression, not exams — but if you want it, kite riders can work toward IKO levels and wing riders toward IWO. A VDWS license is also available via our VDWS-qualified instructors.

Can I do private one-on-one coaching?

Standard sessions have a maximum of 2 riders per coach, and you can book pure 1:1 VIP private coaching for the most focused attention. Bring a same-level friend to share a session, or ride solo. For capable, level-matched independent riders, coaching can be arranged for up to 4 riders on request with multiple complete setups.

Can you coach foiling from the boat in deep water?

Yes — as a separately booked Boat Foiling product. The boat can carry up to 4 guests by prior arrangement, but a maximum of 2 students are coached in one rotation on one complete setup and take turns. The coach selects the area and timing for the actual depth, traffic, water and boat conditions.
