Can I rent wing & foil gear without taking a course?
Yes — rental is open to riders who demonstrate that they can foil upwind, return to their launch and self-rescue. If you are still learning, start with a wing course to build those skills. Completing a course or a fixed number of hours does not guarantee rental; the team checks your current ability, the water and wind, local rules and equipment availability before releasing a set.
What wing and foil brands do you have?
We rent 50+ Flysurfer wings and the full Levitaz hydrofoil range (540–2,200 cm² front wings, 60–94 cm masts), on wingboards from 44 to 140 L (Boom, Air Boom, Roamer and more). Flysurfer and Levitaz are both German-designed; Levitaz is a German hydrofoil brand.
Can I demo wing or foil gear before I buy it?
Yes. We're the official Flysurfer (since 2009) and Levitaz (since 2015) test point in El Gouna — you can demo the current wings and foils on real water, dial in your size, then buy the one you actually love, with 15% off new gear after a course or a test session. Co-owner Lukáš is a team rider for both brands.
How much does wing & foil rental cost in El Gouna?
The complete set (wing + board + foil) is €120/day, or prepaid €350 for 3 of 7 days, €500 for 7 of 10, and €650 for 10 of 14 (ride any X days within the Y-day window). Just the wing or just the board start at €90/day — €250 / €390 / €550 prepaid. Mixing sports? Kite + wing combo packages are €300 / €430 / €605 for the same windows (€400 / €550 / €715 with the complete foil set). Rental includes beach access — there's no separate kitepass to add (that's for own-gear riders). Optional insurance is €10–15/day. See the full table above and tap any price to book it.
Do I need insurance to rent?
It's optional but recommended: €15/day for 1–2 days, €10/day for 3+ days. It covers one incident per week up to €200 per rider; it does not cover loss or damage from negligence, so buy it before you go out. Without it you pay actual repair or replacement per our damage price list — see the insurance card above for the full list.
What's included in the kitepass?
The €10/day Kitepass is only for independent riders using their own gear: it covers beach access, sun beds, showers, launch and landing help, rescue support during operating hours, the compressor and a gear rinse. A specific intervention or response time is not guaranteed. If you rent from us, beach access is already included and no separate Kitepass is added.
Is the El Gouna lagoon good for foiling?
There is a dedicated deeper wing & foil zone, a sandy bottom and prevailing cross-onshore N–NW wind. Depth changes with the tide and conditions, so we match the mast and session timing to the suitable water area rather than promising the same depth on every tide.
Can I store my own gear and only rent when the wind is light?
Yes — that's a popular setup. Keep your own quiver in our storage (daily up to 12 months), then rent a light-wind wing or a bigger foil from us on the days your kit doesn't fit. It's why so many returning riders make Kitepower their home base.
What should I wear on the water?
In summer it's boardshorts or a bikini. In winter the air sits around 22 °C and the water around 20–21 °C, so you'll want a full, long wetsuit (we rent those too) — not a shorty.
