01 The tow begins
The rope tightens. Everything else goes quiet.
The instructor brings the boat up slowly and holds a steady, controllable pull. There is no wind window, kite or wing to manage — only the board under your feet and the line in your hands.
The boat creates the pull, so this chapter does not need wind; the session still depends on suitable depth, traffic, water and boat conditions.
