Advanced kite coaching · El Gouna, Egypt · since 2004

Advanced kite coaching — you ride upwind, now go bigger.

One-on-one coaching in the riding zone selected for the actual wind, tide and your level — first jumps, transitions and freestyle foundations, with two-way helmet coaching in your ear. The same home spot where 2025 GKA Freestyle World Champion Finn Flügel trains.

Typical conditions: 15–25 kt N–NW typical · gusting to 28 kt · water level varies with tide

Is this you?

Stuck on a plateau — and ready to break through it.

This isn't a beginner course or a quick refresh. It's coaching for riders who already control the kite but have hit a wall: no clean jumps, shaky transitions, a season stuck at the same level. We'll be honest about where you are and build a plan to move you forward.

Advanced coaching is for you if…

  • You ride upwind consistently and can hold your line
  • You can body-drag back to a lost board and self-rescue
  • You feel stuck — no clean jumps, sketchy transitions, plateaued

Your progression map

Control first. Then turn, send and style it.

This is the route most riders climb, not a rigid syllabus or a promised result. Your foundations and the wind decide where you enter and how fast you move; every drill is coached live through the helmet.

  1. 01 Control

    Lock in the basics

Riding switch, confident toeside, and a sharper edge so your kite and board finally feel automatic — the platform every trick is built on.

  2. 02 Transitions

    Smooth turns, both ways

Heelside-to-toeside transitions, carving jibes and tacks — linking your rides into clean, controlled changes of direction without losing power.

  3. 03 Jumps

    Your first controlled jumps

The send, the pop, the landing — timing your kite to boost on purpose and come down softly. Controlled send-and-land is the milestone most riders come here for.

  4. 04 Freestyle

    Loops & unhooked basics

Your first kiteloop and the foundations of unhooked riding — the door into freestyle, coached step by step in the zone selected for the day's wind, water level and traffic.

Coaching in your ear, in real time

Most schools shout from the beach. We talk to you mid-jump.

Two-way BB Talkin Bluetooth helmets mean your coach corrects your edge, timing and kite position the instant it happens — and you can ask, right there on the water. That's the difference between repeating a mistake all day and fixing it on the next run.

  • Real-time, two-way audio — feedback the moment you need it
  • Max 2 riders per coach — or fully private 1:1
  • Rescue support during operating hours; response times are not guaranteed

Flat water, clean wind, soft landings

Advanced coaching planned from the conditions in front of us.

Our lagoon is 2–3 km long and about 1 km wide. Its first ~800 m is knee-to-waist deep over sand, and the prevailing N–NW wind is cross-onshore. The coach selects the appropriate zone and progression for the actual conditions and rider level.

  • Flat, current-free water — no chop to punish a missed landing
  • Cross-onshore N–NW wind, 15–25 kt — blows you back to shore, not out
  • Independent & freestyle zone — space away from the teaching area
  • Our own weather station + 16-day forecast + live webcam

Real data, not a guess

Enough wind to actually progress.

Big-air days need real wind. From our own weather station (2 million+ readings over 4 years), about 77% of days a year are rideable — peaking around 85% in August. That's measured, not marketing. And with our Wind Guarantee, booked hours never expire.

% of days with a rideable session (≥ 12 kt for ≥ 2 h of daylight). Winter air ≈ 22 °C — pack a full wetsuit, not boardshorts.

How advanced coaching is priced

Pay for the hours you ride — the rate drops as you go.

There's no fixed advanced package. Because every rider's plateau is different, we coach you in open hours — pay-as-you-go, built around your level. The more you ride, the lower the per-hour rate. Standard sessions have max 2 riders per coach; for capable, level-matched independent riders, coaching for up to 4 riders can be arranged on request with multiple complete setups.

Open hours · per hour2 riders / coachPrivate 1:1
1h€80€110
2–4h€75€105
5–8h€70€100
9h+€60€90

The rate band is set by your total hours ridden — ride 5–8 hours over your trip and every hour is billed at the €70 band (2 riders) / €100 (private). Open hours aren't pre-booked — message us first so we plan the right session and pair you with a similar-level rider. See hourly coaching packages →

How semi-private pairing works: semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can’t pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options — ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. You’re told up front, so it’s never a surprise and you never pay more than you booked.

Test the gear, then push it

Find your dream kite on the water — not in a shop.

Advanced riders obsess over kit, and they should. As a Flysurfer Test Point you can ask which models are available to demo on the water before you buy. With 250+ kites across the stated size range, the team can match riders and measured conditions more precisely; availability and safe rideability still decide what can run.

Wingfoiling in the dedicated deeper foil zone in El Gouna — a second discipline for advanced kiters

One wind, two sports

Already mastering the kite? Unlock a second discipline.

You already read the wind — that makes you the ideal candidate for foiling. El Gouna has the dedicated deeper foil zone, suitable for adding wingfoil when conditions allow, and we also coach parawing for riders who already have the required foil skills. Ask about combining both in one trip.

Honest answers before you book

What if there's no one my weight for a semi-private lesson?

Semi-private means 2 students of similar weight share one kite. If we can't pair you with a same-weight partner, you have two options: ride private 1:1 at the private rate, or keep the semi-private price and ride 1:1 for the equivalent (shorter) water time. We tell you up front, so it's never a surprise — and you never pay more than you booked.

What level do I need for advanced kite coaching?

You should already ride upwind consistently and be able to body-drag back to a lost board and self-rescue. If you can do that but feel stuck — no clean jumps, sketchy transitions, plateaued for a season — this is for you. Brand new? Start with Zero to Hero. Just rusty? Take a Refresh first.

Will I learn to jump?

A controlled send-and-land jump is a common coaching goal. We build it in steps: kite timing, the send, the pop, then the landing. We won't promise a kiteloop in two days, because real progress depends on your foundations, the actual conditions and the coach's assessment.

What is two-way helmet coaching?

We use two-way BB Talkin Bluetooth helmets. Most schools shout from the beach; we talk to you mid-jump — and you can talk back. Your coach corrects your edge, timing and kite position the instant it happens, so you stop repeating the same mistake all day.

How is advanced coaching priced — is there a fixed course?

There's no rigid advanced syllabus and no fixed package — we coach you in OPEN HOURS, pay-as-you-go, so every session is built around your level. The per-hour rate drops the more you ride: from €80/h down to €60/h once you pass 9 hours (2 riders per coach). Message us with where you're stuck and we'll plan the right block.

Is El Gouna good for learning kite jumps?

The lagoon is 2–3 km long and about 1 km wide, with defined teaching and independent-riding zones. In typical conditions, its first roughly 800 m forms a knee-to-waist-deep sandy teaching area. The prevailing N–NW wind is cross-onshore. Coaching, conditions and rider level determine which jumps are appropriate; no landing is risk-free.

Can I demo different kites while I progress?

Yes. As the official, largest Flysurfer Test Point since 2009, we can arrange demos from the available range in safe, rideable conditions. Our 250+ kites give the team broad options to match your weight, level and measured wind, but individual equipment remains subject to availability and the fleet does not guarantee a session.

How many riders per coach?

Standard coaching has a maximum of 2 riders per coach. Rescue support is available during operating hours, but response times are not guaranteed. For capable, level-matched independent riders, advanced coaching can be arranged for up to 4 riders on request with multiple complete setups. For pure one-on-one, choose private coaching and you have the coach to yourself.

What should I wear?

In summer, boardshorts or a bikini. In winter the air sits around 22 °C, so you'll want a full wetsuit (we provide it) — not boardshorts.

Ready to go bigger?

Tell us where you're stuck and we'll build the right plan — flat water, a coach in your ear, and the room to finally send it. Open-hours coaching from €60/h.
