On the other side of the equation, our team isn’t half German-speaking. We have several excellent German-speaking instructors, but not enough to cover that entire demand on every day of every week. During peak season, when we run a large team at the spot, it’s manageable — but the German-speaking slots fill up fast. In the quieter months, with a smaller team on the beach, availability is even tighter.

The result is simple: German-speaking instruction is one of the first things to book out. Plan ahead and it’s rarely a problem; leave it to the last minute and you may end up on a waiting list.

When It’s Most Critical

September–November (Autumn Peak)

The busiest stretch of the year. The wind is at its most reliable, the temperatures are pleasant, and after the summer everyone wants back on the water. German-speaking instructors are booked weeks in advance.

March–May (Spring Peak)

The second busiest period. The season warms up, Easter brings a wave of guests, and German-speaking slots fill up quickly all over again.

Christmas and New Year

A short but intense window. Many German-speaking families head to El Gouna for the holidays, so the few available slots go early.

Summer (June–August)

Paradoxically the easiest time to get a German-speaking instructor — there are simply fewer guests overall. Summer wind is lighter and more thermal, which also makes it a great time to try wingfoiling alongside kiting.

What We Offer

Instruction in German

Our German-speaking instructors run kite courses and wing courses entirely in German — the safety briefing, the live coaching on the water, and the feedback afterwards. And the coaching really is live: every student wears a two-way BB Talkin Bluetooth helmet, so the instructor can both talk to you and hear you in real time, in your own language, right there on the lagoon.

IKO and VDWS Certification

We are an IKO Pro Center and teach to IKO methodology by default — Lukáš has been an IKO Head Instructor since 2009 — so certification of the IKO level you actually demonstrate is included in the course price at no extra cost. Course completion does not guarantee independent-rider level, and every rental centre applies its own skills, rules, conditions and availability check.

For German-speaking guests, a VDWS card (Verband Deutscher Wassersport Schulen) is often the more familiar standard. We can issue VDWS certification through our qualified instructors for a €40 exam fee. Like an IKO record, it documents demonstrated skills and can support a rental request; it does not replace the receiving centre’s assessment.

Professional Facilities

250+ Flysurfer kites from 3 to 21 m² (LEI kites Indie, Stoke and ERA; foil kites Soul, Sonic and Hybrid), 60+ boards, and German Levitaz hydrofoils. The lagoon is divided into a first roughly 800 m knee-to-waist-deep teaching area, an independent-riding zone and a dedicated deeper foil zone. Depth changes with tide and conditions. Rescue support is available during operating hours, but response times are not guaranteed. We teach a maximum of two students per instructor.

What to Do When a German-Speaking Instructor Isn’t Available

Let’s be honest: even with a booking, it’s not always possible to guarantee a German-speaking instructor on your exact dates. So what then?

English as an Alternative

All of our instructors speak English, and a lesson in English is fully equivalent — the same methodology, the same equipment, the same quality. Most German-speaking guests who end up learning in English say the difference was minimal.

If you have basic English, you’ll be fine. The instructions on the water are simple and repetitive, and within the first session you’ll already know the handful of key phrases that matter.

Eight Languages in Total

Across our team we cover eight languages. Beyond German and English, that includes several other European languages, so it’s always worth asking when you book — we may well have an instructor in your native tongue.

How to Secure a German-Speaking Instructor

Here’s a simple plan:

1. Contact us as early as possible — via contact or booking.
2. Say clearly that you want a German-speaking instructor — ideally in your very first message.
3. Give exact dates — the more specific you are, the better we can plan around them.
4. Book early:
   • Peak season (September–November, March–May): 4–8 weeks ahead
   • Christmas / New Year: 6–8 weeks ahead
   • Quieter months (January–February, summer): 2–3 weeks ahead usually works
5. Be flexible with timing — if you can ride mornings instead of afternoons (or vice versa), your chances improve significantly.
