We’re not new on the scene. Kitepower El Gouna is the oldest kite school in El Gouna, with school history dating to 2004 and the current northern base operating since 2016. Over that history, instructors here have taught thousands of students from more than 50 countries and refined the teaching process across changing conditions. Lukáš and Andrea Vogeltanz took over the operation in 2023 and have run it hands-on since then, building on more than twenty years of school history.

2016 was a turning point — the school moved to its current base on the northern edge of El Gouna. The position can provide an open approach in the prevailing N–NW pattern, but the team still selects the usable zone from the live wind, water level, traffic and rider ability. No distance or clear corridor is guaranteed.

Two decades in one location also means we know the lagoon like the back of our hand. We know where it’s shallow, where the wind is best at each time of day, and where to send students for the best conditions.

2. Northern Position = A Zone Chosen From Live Conditions

This deserves its own point because it’s crucial. Many kite schools in El Gouna sit side by side on the beach, sharing the same space. Not with us.

We’re the northernmost school, so upwind there’s only open water. For beginners, that means safety — if your kite gets away, you won’t endanger anyone else. 3. 250+ Flysurfer Kites = More Matching Options

We run over 250 Flysurfer kites, in sizes from 3 to 21 m², plus 60+ boards. Why so many? Because kite size has to be matched to your weight, level and the measured wind. The broad range gives our team more options than a travel quiver, but individual equipment remains subject to availability and we only run a session when conditions are safe and rideable.

Flysurfer makes kites we trust — we’ve been their official distributor and test point since 2009. We ride them ourselves, teach on them, and in our rental centre you can try them as an advanced rider too.

4. Two-Way Bluetooth Helmet Coaching = Faster Progress

This one surprises many people. Our instructors don’t just talk to you on the beach before and after the lesson. Every student wears a two-way BB Talkin Bluetooth helmet, so the instructor can both talk to you and hear you in real time, right there on the water.

That means instant feedback. You don’t have to wait until you get back to shore to find out what you’re doing wrong. The instructor tells you “pull the bar more” or “shift your weight back” exactly when you need to hear it — and you can ask questions without coming back in. The result? Students progress significantly faster. It’s part of how we teach.

5. Your Demonstrated IKO Level Recorded at No Extra Charge

IKO certification is included with your kite course and records the level you actually demonstrate. An independent-rider record can make it easier for another school to understand your skills, but every rental centre still applies its own assessment, local rules, conditions and equipment availability.

6. Rescue Support During Operating Hours

Rescue support is available during operating hours. A specific intervention or response time cannot be guaranteed, so every rider still follows the safety briefing, zone rules and self-rescue requirements.

If a learner loses a kite or an independent rider has an equipment problem, they signal and follow the safety briefing while the team assesses the situation and sends available rescue support. It is a safety backup, not a guaranteed water taxi, and every rider must still know and use self-rescue.

This is something that’s hard to appreciate until you need it. But when you need it, you’re glad it’s there.

7. We Speak 8 Languages

Czech, Slovak, English, German, Arabic, Italian, Russian, and Polish. That means you get instruction in a language you understand — and that’s extremely important when learning.

8. Beach Club Right on the Sand

After a few hours on the water, you don’t want to go anywhere. You want to sit down, grab some food, and watch the lagoon. Our beach club is right on the sand — no transfers, no searching for a taxi.

Breakfast, lunch, snacks, smoothies. Fresh, simple, and reasonably priced. And yes — Wi-Fi works.

9. Kids’ Playground + Coworking for Digital Nomads

This is for those who don’t come alone. Partner doesn’t want to kite? Kids are bored? Not at our place.

The station has a kids’ corner and a large wooden playground, so families can spend time together even when one parent is on the water and another accompanying adult stays nearby and responsible for the children. The play areas are not supervised childcare. And for those who need to work, we have an air-conditioned coworking space with sea views — so you can answer emails in the morning, kite in the afternoon, and relax at the beach club in the evening. We teach children from around 5–6 years old and from 20 kg, subject to an individual assessment.
