1. Who is responsible
The App Store publisher is Lukáš Vogeltanz. The controllers responsible for app-related server processing are Kitepower El Gouna, FRZ 14, El Gouna, Egypt, and Kite4all s.r.o., Kpt. Jaroše 1844/28, Brno, Czech Republic. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
2. Data processed for app functions
The app does not ask for your name, email address or an account. The following limited technical data can be sent to and stored on our first-party server:
- an opaque Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token, specific to this app and device;
- the app bundle identifier, production/test environment and whether the token is used for widget refreshes or wind alerts;
- the low and high wind thresholds you choose for alerts; and
- technical delivery state and timestamps needed to avoid duplicate notifications and remove invalid tokens.
We use this information only to refresh app widgets in the background and to send the wind notifications you enable. We do not connect the token to a name, email address, advertising profile or customer account.
3. Data kept on your device
Recent weather, forecast and tide data, display units, widget state, alert preferences and other app settings are cached locally using Apple system storage. This keeps the app, widgets and Apple Watch complications responsive. Local app data is normally removed when you uninstall the app or erase its data.
4. Network requests and server logs
The app connects over HTTPS to Kitepower services, including kitepowerelgouna.com for live wind, forecasts, tides and school content, and cam.kitepowerelgouna.com for the webcam player. It also requests marine forecast data from Open-Meteo using the fixed coordinates of the Kitepower station—not your device location. Like most internet services, the hosting infrastructure may temporarily process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, time, requested resource and response status for delivery, security and fault diagnosis.
We do not use those requests to build user profiles, measure advertising or track you across apps and websites.
5. Apple services and notifications
Apple provides the App Store, APNs, WidgetKit, MapKit and the operating-system services used by the app. Apple may process data under its own privacy policy. We send APNs only the device token and notification payload required to deliver a background refresh or wind alert.
Wind-alert notifications are optional. You can allow or disable visible alerts in iPhone or Apple Watch settings. The app does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
6. External links and booking
When you choose to open booking, WhatsApp, email, maps, social media or another external destination, that service receives the information your device or you send to it under that service’s privacy terms. KiteHub booking pages open in an in-app Safari view; WhatsApp and other destinations open only after your action. The Kitepower app does not receive your completed booking, message or payment details from those services.
7. Legal basis, retention and your rights
App-specific push tokens and alert settings are kept only while needed for background widget refreshes and notifications. Invalid tokens are removed when Apple reports that they can no longer receive notifications. Standard server logs are rotated as part of normal hosting and security operations.
Where the GDPR applies, we process the limited technical data to provide the app functions you request and on the basis of our legitimate interests in delivering, securing and troubleshooting those functions. Visible wind alerts require your system permission; you can withdraw it at any time in device settings.
You can remove local data by uninstalling the app. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data and object to processing. To exercise a right or request deletion of a server-side push token, contact [email protected]. Because the app has no account, we may need limited device/install details to locate a token without collecting additional identity data. You may also complain to your competent data-protection authority; for the EU controller, see the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.
8. Sharing, sale and tracking
We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics or tracking technologies, and we do not share app data for advertising. Technical processors such as our hosting provider and Apple handle only the data required to provide their infrastructure and services.
9. Children
The app is rated 4+ and is not designed to collect personal information from children. It has no account, social profile, chat or user-generated-content feature. The same limited technical processing described above applies to every installation.
10. Security and policy changes
Network traffic to our services uses HTTPS, and the push registry is kept on access-controlled infrastructure. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If app functionality or data practices change materially, we will update this page, its effective date and—where required—the App Store privacy information.
